A Note regarding AMSOIL Oil Filters
All AMSOIL Super Duty Oil Filters are made by Hastings, and if your filter is unavailable we can substitute the Hastings brand for the AMSOIL. The AMSOIL SDF filters are made specifically to AMSOIL's requirements thus the 12,000 mile or 6-month life. Since the Hastings world headquarters and plant is in Kearney, Nebraska, every AMSOIL filter purchase helps the Nebraska economy. AMSOIL's popularity is skyrocketing now so I am pleased that our products benefit people in this great state in more ways than one.
What should a quality synthetic lubricant do? AMSOIL gives you more for your money as it performs these tasks longer. Clean - Maintain internal cleanliness by suspending contaminants or keeping contaminants from adhering to components. Critical function for used vehicles where you don't know about the maintenance performed.
Cool moving elements - Reducing friction will reduce the amount of heat that is generated, which will lower the operating temperature of the element or component. We also rely on the lubricant to absorb heat from the contact surface area and transport it to a location in which it can be safely dissipated.
Prevent contamination (seal) - We rely on the lubricant to act as a dynamic seal in locations such as the piston, piston ring and cylinder contact areas. This minimizes combustion by-products (for example) from contaminating the lubrication system. We also rely on the lubricant to support mechanical seals found elsewhere, minimizing external contamination and fluid loss. AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants and industrial oils excel in Carbon Formation Resistance , Antifoam, Demulsibility and Hydrolytic stability. Other brands fail here. Do your own analysis.
Dampen shock - A lubricant may be required to cushion the blow of mechanical shock. A lubricant film can absorb and disperse these energy spikes over a broader contact area. This is AMSOIL's most commented on attribute. Our large vehicle and motorcycle customers frequently comment on noise and vibration reduction.
Prevent corrosion - A lubricant must have the ability to prevent or minimize internal component corrosion. This can be accomplished either by chemically neutralizing the corrosive products or by setting up a barrier between the components and the corrosive material.
Transfer energy - A lubricant may be required to act as an energy transfer median as in the case of hydraulic equipment or valve lifters in an automotive engine.
AMSOIL - The Ethical Choice for Omaha
According to the EPA, improperly disposed used oil is the main source of oil pollution contaminating our waters. The API has published that up to 200 million gallons of used engine oil ends up in sewers, storm drains or in the ground. And that a single quart can destroy thousands of gallons of water.
While over the last 10 years in the U.S., there has been three major gasoline engine oil requirement upgrades and a fourth on it's way, These "Significantly Improved" labeled oils have not provided a single measure the consumer can understand (The exception is AMSOIL), such as extended drain intervals which precisely translates into reduced oil use and pollution. Instead they have vigorously worked against the progress of extended intervals. How do they do this?: Ignore the oil industry's technological innovations, skills and oil quality, progression in engine design and materials, the impact of used and un-neutralized oil flowing into the environment, treat consumers like naive yahoos and ignore plain logic and common sense.
How do you reduce this waste? We can start by ending overproduction of the products that contribute unnecessarily to this pollution. For 30 years AMSOIL has been the only motor and industrial oil company that has promoted reducing product use through extended (25,000 mile or one year as the benchmark) change intervals. AMSOIL INC. takes this ethical and social stance of responsibility very seriously which has helped them gain the competitive edge where consumers and plant managers are concerned with the environment and increased equipment life which results in saved dollars. Support our Omaha Amsoil locations when you can. This gets the message out that we as Americans understand that quality and doing what is right is the choice we want.
Further evidence of the lubricant industries folly on consumers is the recent development and/or marketing of the high mileage engine oils. If U.S. oil consumers were educated properly on modern synthetic lubricants they would understand the 75,000 mile odometer reading is no where near being "High Mileage" when a quality product was used in the first place. AMSOIL Synthetic Engine Oils are designed for all stages of engine wear making so called high mileage totally unnecessary. Note: While driving styles, engines and motor oils are similar between the US and Europe, the average European oil change interval (in gasoline engines) is twice as long as here according to a recent article in Lubes & Greases.
Customers who want the best lubrication, the best fuel economy, the best protection, the most convenience, and conserve energy resources at the same time, the choice is pretty clear.
